Sarah Hillary
Sarah is responsible for the management of the governance, risk and assurance department within Moore Stephens. She has over 20 years’ professional experience gained across a range of sectors including sport, government, international business, real estate, insurance and not-for-profit. She has worked with organisations ranging in size from PLC’s to SMEs and owner managed businesses. Sarah specialises in governance, risk and assurance advisory work including leading specialist reviews for clients including ISAE 3402/SSAE16 and SOC2 reviews where assurance is provided on outsourced providers internal control framework.

Sarah has specialist expertise of governance in the sport sector developed over 15 years. She has a thorough understanding of the complexity of the governance challenges facing the board and senior management of sports organisations and the benefits of employing good governance to meet stakeholder expectations including those of public funders. In addition, she has undertaken a number of governance consultancy projects including a review of conflict of interest which was published and considered as part of the work of the 10th Nolan Committee.

Sarah’s role includes overseeing the delivery of outsourced and co-sourced internal audit plans. She attends and reports to Audit and Risk Committees, providing advice on the governance, risk and control processes in place. Sarah has also been the lead Partner on External Quality reviews (EQR) for internal audit functions.
